But also 8Ball and MJG are signing with Grand Hustle.  If you don’t know, Ball and G are legends in the south who ended up being Bad Boy’s token down-south rappers when that seemed like a good idea.  Two ok-but-not-great albums later, a New York connect isn’t really worth much in rap anymore and the fat mack and his skinny counterpart are gonna be working with T.I.  YES.  Hopefully dudes can get their due like UGK got with their last (and final) album.

Yo this is us tonight, we’re off to Morgantown, West Virginia to play at Duck and Cover.  I’ve never been to WV but I do drive through there a lot.  Good scenery and high speed limits.

Cosmo Baker killed it at The Block Party last night.  He also gave an extended lecture on the assorted random white dudes that played all the villians in action movies in the 80’s and 90’s.  Pix soon!

Jupiter - Starlight

Slightly old hipster electro goodness stolen from the controversial-but-reliable IHEARTCOMIX and spotted a number of other places. I haven’t gotten a chance to play this out yet but I sent it to Lexie and she really likes it. Wooooord up.

(That’s a still from Danny Boyle’s Sunshine. It came out last year and it’s a really beautiful movie about trying to save the world by dropping a bomb into the middle of the sun.)

Young Dro - All That Money

If you have talked to me about music in the last 6 months you know I am America’s foremost Young Dro evangelist. He’s 8 feet tall, possibly in his early 40’s, rhymes almost exclusively about the color of his whips. He made a Macarena reference this year.

My brother and I have an ongoing debate about whether or not dude realizes some of his punchlines are double entendres. Like when he says “whip fulla Geico,” is he bragging about having health insurance or is does he have gecko-skinned seats?

Anyways “All That Money” is his vibe music track and you may not hear a better song in ‘08.
