Michael The Lion x Amy Douglas-Find A Way featuring Steven Klavier-1500x1500

Amy Douglas and I have a NEW single out called Find A Way featuring Steven Klavier. I’m really, really, really excited for the world to hear this record. Fingers crossed, but I think this track is really going somewhere. It’s an anthem.

Listen to it below, stream it, buy it… and if you have time, read on for some of my long-winded thoughts about this single and the EP that to come! There is a release party in Philly this Saturday at Foto Club that you can attend, I’d love to see you there.

Amy Douglas and I have been working on music together since the fall of 2011. Eight years. First we made Funk Train, which started as a piece of a sprawling LP I was making). That song transformed into a bruiser of a vinyl 12″ on Soul Clap in the summer of 2014. That tune still lights up dancefloors to this day.

We knew we were on to something, so as I started working on a self-titled Michael The Lion EP, I asked Amy to contribute a song, which became Get It On – a positivity anthem that we performed live in Philly on a day where we shot promo photos all throughout the alleys of the Gayborhood. That tune, and the remixes it spawned, put the world on notice that Amy was about to storm the disco and take dance music to another level. If you’ve checked the charts recently that is 100% happening.

We knew we could catch this spirit in a bottle, shake it up and the pour out all kinds of goodness for the world to hear. We got to work.

Fast forward to today, and we are beginning to roll out a brand new EP on Soul Clap, starting with this song. It’s no coincidence that Steven Klavier features on this – he and Amy are a dynamic vocal duo and he’s an unbelievable writer and performer. The EP, out in the spring, features the talents of an amazing array of musicians, including keyboardist Dan Paul, guitarist James Hart, bassist Leon Boykins, percussionist Eugene Tambourine, producer Sammy Bananas, and drummer Gary Dann. The legendary John Morales is mixing extended versions of the record for 12″ play.

Thank you very much to Eli and Charlie of Soul Clap, Seth and Nathan of Soul Clap and Crew Love, Oz, Brent Lippincott, Sharon of Shine PR and our designer Erik Brown for facilitating the non-music side of this record, and thank you to our families, who basically enable any and all of this to be possible.

Stay tuned…
