This month, our guest at Philadelphyinz is Dirty South Joe. Joe is the man behind so many of the amazing sounds coming out of Philadelphia the last several years. He’s been on his DJ grind in a major way of late and if you’ve seen him play, he’s a certified dancefloor destroyer, mixing an infectious blend of genres including the new Brick Bandits club sound that is quickly taking over dancefloors across the globe.
As luck would have it, Joe just laid down a live mix for a Mad Decent podcast. Here’s his description:
DSJ here with a somewhat formal introduction to most (but not hardly all) of the producers affiliated with the mighty Brick Bandits Crew; the Brick Bandits Breakout! It’s 21 tracks by 21 artists…all killer, no filler from Jersey, Philly and Chicago. The Breakout! was recorded all the way live on two turntables in one take with no headphones cuz that’s how Ol’ Heads do. It’s a wild ride and clocks in at 43 of the shortest minutes you might ever experience, so don’t say you weren’t warned when you hit rewind again and again. DJ Stumble on the design and engineering duties as usual cuz he da besssss!
Not much more to say at this point…the Brick Bandits invasion has begun and the movement that moves everything ain’t stoppin for nothin. Holla atcha Ol’ Head!
