Young Dro - All That Money
If you have talked to me about music in the last 6 months you know I am America’s foremost Young Dro evangelist. He’s 8 feet tall, possibly in his early 40’s, rhymes almost exclusively about the color of his whips. He made a Macarena reference this year.
My brother and I have an ongoing debate about whether or not dude realizes some of his punchlines are double entendres. Like when he says “whip fulla Geico,” is he bragging about having health insurance or is does he have gecko-skinned seats?
Anyways “All That Money” is his vibe music track and you may not hear a better song in ‘08.

He’s like the Clipse in that no matter what beat they’re on, what the concept is, what album they’re working on…they must ALWAYS bring it back to one topic.
For the Clipse, it’s coke. For Dro, it’s whips. And everytime I hear them rap, I think to myself, “Could this be the first time they get through a 16 without a coke/whip reference?” And just when I think the light is shining, I hear that goddman mandatory reference.
Can’t win for losing.
